Raine & Horne Unlimited, one of the leading real estate agencies in the Eastern Suburbs, is excited to announce the opening of its second office in the Inner West. 

Led by Principal Mr Sam Schumann, the new office, located at 100 Elliot Street, Balmain, is a strategic move to capitalise on the growing migration and real estate activity between the Eastern Suburbs and the Inner West.

Capitalising on the synergies between Eastern Suburbs and Inner West

Motivated by the increasing trend of young families selling apartments in the Eastern Suburbs and seeking houses in the Inner West, Mr Schumann recognised the connections between these two vibrant markets. 

“Higher pricing in the East has made it difficult for young families to find value. So, individuals who have grown up in the Eastern Suburbs and wish to buy a house have naturally gravitated towards specific markets, particularly Balmain and Rozelle,” Mr Schumann said. 

“Additionally, areas like Petersham, Stanmore, Balmain East, Glebe and Forest Lodge have become attractive to buyers because they can afford slightly larger houses, which was challenging in the East.

The Inner West, particularly Balmain, also boasts a variety of property types, including Federation and Victorian sandstone terraces, like those successfully listed and sold by Raine & Horne Unlimited in the Eastern Suburbs. 

“We will be able to leverage this experience and expertise in the sales of terrace and freestanding houses to deliver exceptional results for clients in the new market.”

Mr Schumann added, “This expansion allows us to serve both markets more effectively and provide exceptional service to clients moving between the areas.” 

Embracing growth and expanded leadership team

The new Balmain office comes with a dedicated team of eight real estate specialists, including Skie Ross, following the acquisition of the property management specialist business Let’s Rent, which has operated successfully for over 17 years. 

Ms Ross assumes a new role as Head of Property Management with the expanded Raine & Horne Unlimited, incorporating the new Inner West rent roll along with the existing properties managed across Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.

While Mr Schumann will spearhead the company, the experienced principal is also actively seeking to expand the dedicated sales and property management divisions.

“We aim to maintain the high level of personalised service for which the Let’s Rent team is known for in property management and extend the same level of service to our new sales division servicing Balmain and surrounding suburbs,” said Mr Schumann.

Raine & Horne Unlimited has also welcomed Gary Pelham to its roster, who has assumed the role of Group General Manager. Over the past decade, Mr Pelham has led a premium real estate firm in Sydney's East. Prior to that, he spent a decade at the helm of a Mergers & Acquisitions business, in addition to founding a successful family-owned business.

Expanding for spring

Raine & Horne Unlimited takes pride in being an area-agnostic agency and will retain the Unlimited branding for its Eastern Suburbs and Inner West offices, while the launch of the new office has been timed perfectly to coincide with the beginning of the traditional selling market in spring.

“As it stands, the lack of stock seems to be holding up property values, and we’re still getting good results for vendors,” said Mr Schumann. 

“With spring now upon us, there’ll be more stock coming onto the market as savvy vendors recognise that the RBA has left rates on hold for now providing more stability.
