- Raine & Horne delivers next-generation real estate services to Kyogle
Raine & Horne continues its expansion in Northern NSW by opening an office in Kyogle that has committed to changing the way real estate is sold and managed in the Northern Rivers gateway town.
In a significant coup for the rapidly expanding brand, leading Kyogle independent Gateway Real Estate, led by long time Northern Rivers local Aiden Chalker, will now operate as Raine & Horne Kyogle.
Mr Angus Raine, Executive Chairman, Raine & Horne, is thrilled at the prospect of working with Mr Chalker and the team at Raine & Horne Kyogle and bringing the Superbrand’s unique ecosystem of digital marketing technologies such as its online appraisal platform DigiKit and exclusive social media marketing tool Amplify.
“Aiden has grown up in the Northern Rivers, knows Kyogle and the surrounding areas like the back of his hand and is determined to bring the region’s real estate market into the 2020s with the industry best digital marketing technologies such as Amplify and Digikit,” said Mr Raine.
“Driven and enthusiastic about real estate, Aiden is a rare commodity having extensive sales and property management experience, which laid the groundwork perfectly for his move into business ownership.” During his time in Sydney, Mr Chalker managed a massive portfolio of investment properties for a major developer.
The Raine & Horne technology and brand point of difference
Mr Raine continued, “I’m looking forward to working with Aiden and bringing Raine & Horne’s unique ecosystem of digital marketing technologies to homeowners, landlords, buyers and tenants in the Kyogle area.”
Mr Chalker agrees that Raine & Horne’s technology point of difference will enhance the sale and management of properties in Kyogle. “Products such as Amplify and Digikit will change up the way real estate is sold and managed in Kyogle.
“The agencies here are very established and comfortable and still operate the way they did 20 years ago. So, bringing new technology and ideas to the real estate industry in Kyogle is very exciting.”
Mr Chalker says Raine & Horne’s heritage as a family-owned and operated company since 1883 appeals. “Even before I started working in real estate, Raine & Horne was a brand I liked,” he said.
“I value that Angus Raine and the Raine family is still involved, and they have built a remarkable and recognisable brand. This awareness is important given the numbers of people moving here from Sydney and Melbourne who are familiar with the Rane & Horne brand.”
Running a business in a home patch
Mr Chalker, who attended primary and secondary school in Kyogle, started his real estate career in Lismore, Ballina, and Casino, only 20 minutes from Kyogle, before a stint in Sydney between 2018 and 2021. “While I worked in Casino, I lived in Kyogle and own a home here today.
“I love Kyogle as it has that unique small-town culture you can’t find in the bigger regional hubs and the capital cities,” Mr Chalker said.
“The town is well-located, just two hours to Brisbane, 90 minutes to the Gold Coast and a bit over an hour to Byron Bay and 60 minutes to Ballina Airport. So, homeowners and tenants can enjoy the county feel but still be close enough to a big city and beaches if they need to go there.
“Moreover, we have a healthy economy led by agriculture with farms surrounding Kyogle. In addition, we have professional services such as accountants and solicitors here and plenty of cafes and restaurants.”
While homebuyers and investors can still find plenty of bang for their buck in Kyogle, the market has recently enjoyed a boom, noted Mr Chalker, who has plans to expand the sales team at Raine & Horne Kyogle quickly.
“Anyone who bought a property here 18 months ago will be laughing all the way to the bank,” he said.
“We recently sold a very nice brick home for $700,000 that would have changed hands for under $500,000 two years ago,” Mr Chalker.
In Kyogle, a mix of owner-occupiers and investors drive the local real estate markets. “However, vacant rentals are slim pickings now, which is putting upward pressure on yields. Investment properties in Kyogle are generating yields nudging 5.5%.”
