After five decades with a rival network next-gen owners team up with Raine & Horne to transform Maclean office

October 8, 2023

After a fifty-year affiliation with a competing network, a well-known second-generation Maclean office based in NSW’s Northern Rivers region has transitioned its allegiance to Raine & Horne, coinciding with the super brand’s celebration of 140 years in operation.

Experienced real estate principals Brandon Bourke, Travis McConnell, and local entrepreneur Scott Johnson will lead the freshly minted Raine & Horne Maclean and Raine & Horne Yamba/Iluka.

The transition to Raine & Horne includes refurbishing and rebranding their Maclean office and acquiring the building next door to expand and build a state-of-the-art auction and business centre. The business has also opened a brand-new office in a prominent position in Yamba.

Angus Raine, Executive Chairman of Raine & Horne, commented on the new additions to the Raine & Horne group, saying, "We are thrilled to welcome Brandon, Travis, and Scott to our network. Their commitment to their local communities and their extensive experience in real estate make them valuable additions to our team."

A strategic choice for advancing technology, service, and community engagement

Mr Bourke shared insights into the decision to join Raine & Horne, stating, “When I bought into the Maclean business nearly two years ago, I undertook a comprehensive review of all aspects of our operations. This included technology, network presence, service quality, brand impact, culture, and community engagement.

"After my review, we collectively opted for a brand change, selecting Raine & Horne due to shared values, progressive culture and long-term strategy. We see value in their support, superior technology, and their strong commitment to the community.”

On the technological front, Raine & Horne is a clear frontrunner according to Mr Bourke. “From initial impressions, first-to-market products such as AI-powered digital marketing platform Amplify and the online proposal tool, DigikitPlus are very appealing.

“Our transition to Raine & Horne allows us to better serve our clients and expand our reach in the region."

Harnessing the Raine & Horne Foundation for local community impact

One of the key aspects of the transition is the appeal of the Raine & Horne Foundation, which aligns with Mr Bourke, Mr McConnell, and Mr Johnson's solid commitment to supporting their local communities.

Since 2010, the Maclean based business has raised close to $100,000 for Cystic Fibrosis Australia by participating as a team in an annual 23-kilometre coastal walk from Brooms Head to Yamba Golf Club. This year the business organised over 170 people to take part in the charity walk and a charity golf round. The office has also consistently supported the Cancer Council of Australia by participating in the Biggest Morning Tea and Daffodil Day. The team also backs the local AFL football, netball, soccer, bowling, golf and swimming clubs.

Mr Bourke said, "Community support is not a cliche for us; it's deeply ingrained in our family and teams’ culture. We have a history of supporting various causes, and we look forward to leveraging the Raine & Horne Foundation to make a positive impact in the areas we serve."

The new Raine & Horne offices are strategically positioned to serve Northern New South Wales, catering to a diverse range of buyers and sellers. The team at Raine & Horne Maclean and Yamba/ Iluka provide exceptional service and building lasting relationships with their clients.

Mr Bourke adds, "Our focus has always been on the critical connection between people, lifestyle, and property. We believe that our partnership with Raine & Horne will strengthen this connection and provide our clients with even better service."
