November 19, 2012

Media release - 19th November, 2012

Investors spoilt for choice with wide array of Fraser Coast commercial properties

  • Investor enquiries for Hervey Bay commercial property up 50% since 2008
  • Commercial experience the cornerstone of Raine & Horne Commercial Hervey Bay
  • Raine & Horne’s Global Database will help over 1 million clients connect with Hervey Bay commercial real estate listings

With a 50% jump in buyer enquiries since the GFC, leading real estate Superbrand Raine & Horne Commercial has once again committed to the commercial property market on Queensland’s burgeoning Fraser Coast, with the relaunch of Raine & Horne Commercial Hervey Bay.

Raine & Horne Commercial Hervey Bay, owned and operated by experienced local real estate specialist, Graham Cockerill, Principal of Raine & Horne Hervey Bay, will be located at 357 Esplanade, Scarness, Hervey Bay.

Raine & Horne Hervey Bay has always had a commercial sales team and in the past we’ve assisted companies such as Woolworths and Coles set up shop in the region, while we have helped piece together deals with Peppers Resorts and other businesses along the Esplanade,” says Mr Cockerill.

“However when the GFC hit in 2008, commercial property fell off the radar for some investors and we wound down the commercial arm of the business.

“Now, with confidence returning to commercial property in Queensland, we are formally relaunching Raine & Horne Commercial Hervey Bay to service our clients along the Fraser Coast.”

As part of the launch, Mr Cockerill has appointed commercial real estate experts Dean Sherwell and Julie Burt to help lead Raine & Horne Commercial Hervey Bay.

“Julie is one of our most experienced commercial sales agents and has been with Raine & Horne Hervey Bay for six years, while Dean’s experience in working in the business-to-business (B2B) segment enables him to bring high quality commercial, industrial and retail projects together for sellers and buyers,” says Mr Cockerill.

Known as one of Australia’s favourite holiday destinations, investors will quickly discover that Hervey Bay also offers a healthy mix of commercial properties for sale.

“Hervey Bay is the largest commercial centre on the Fraser Coast and we currently have a wide range of commercial premises on our books, from warehouses to corner shops, that will appeal to mum and dad investors.

“There is also a selection of larger commercial investments that will attract developers and commercial firms,” says Mr Cockerill, who reveals that Raine & Horne Commercial Hervey Bay has just listed the 134 hectare site at 58 Caterwood Road, Owanyilla, with expectations over $5 million + GST.

“This site sits directly adjacent to the main North/South rail line between Brisbane and Cairns, and the Bruce Highway connecting Brisbane, Maryborough and Rockhampton.

“It is a unique opportunity for an investor specialising in rail manufacturing, mining transportation and logistics to establish a central transport hub on Queensland’s Fraser Coast,” says Mr Cockerill.

“In addition, companies with agricultural, timber and mining goods could also adapt the site for storage.”

Mr Cockerill urges investors to take note of Hervey Bay’s excellent commercial growth potential, arguably the highest in the region, given its sphere of influence stretching from Tin Can Bay to Burrum River.

“There are quality hospitals, shopping centres and excellent major infrastructure servicing the town, that are all supported by a healthy population base of workers and industry,” says Mr Cockerill, who is confident the Raine & Horne Commercial brand will make a major contribution to the region’s commercial real estate market.

“Raine & Horne Commercial is a renowned international network with offices globally, as well as enjoying an excellent reputation across Australia.

“For example, local owners can take advantage of Raine & Horne Commercial’s unique Global Database, which communicates with more than 1 million real estate consumers in Australia and overseas.

“In other words we can market Hervey Bay commercial properties to potential buyers and investors as far away as Hobart and Hong Kong,” explains Mr Cockerill.

In welcoming the launch of Raine & Horne Commercial Hervey Bay, Angus Raine, CEO Raine & Horne Commercial, says the office is an example of the network’s growing reach in the Queensland market.

“After a correction in prices in the early half of 2012, we are starting to see signs that there are good times ahead for commercial property in Queensland,” says Mr Raine, who noted that Raine & Horne Commercial Hervey Bay is the leading network’s 33rd Australian-based commercial office.

“We are also very fortunate to have Graham and the experienced Raine & Horne Commercial Hervey Bay team representing our commercial clients on the Fraser Coast.”
