AUSTRALIA’S MOST SUSTAINABLE CITIES – APAC SUSTAINABILITY INDEX

Being a sustainable and prosperous city isn’t just a ‘nice-to-have’ for residents, it’s part of a city’s identity and is critical for people looking to make life-changing moves to new parts of the world.

Based on the Knight Frank’s Asia Pacific Sustainably Led Cities Index which ranks 36 cities globally, Singapore, Sydney, Wellington, Perth, and Melbourne lead the pack as the top five most sustainably led cities for commercial real estate in APAC.

The top three factors that contribute to top five ranking in APAC are the amount of green space available, green-rated commercial building and urbanisation pressure. These cities benefit from all these factors and to no surprise, these factors are also shared among the top ten cities in APAC.

Being that a city's land use pattern and physical infrastructure will remain status quo for years to come, how well a city is planned and maintained is crucial as its functionality will determine its ability to accommodate future generations.
