    FoodWorks Nuriootpa is located on Old Kapunda Road, Nuriootpa, a major commercial centre in the Barossa Valley. This store started as a mobile store back in Feb 1950. It then expanded to a convenience store on Fifth Street in September 1953. The owner then sold this shop to the 2nd owners in 1982, who then further expanded the business and built up the current site in 1991. The current vendors purchased this business in June 2000, renovating the store in 2007.

    FoodWorks is an Australian supermarket chain run by independent retail group Australian United Retailers Limited (AURL). The AURL was created in November 2004 from the merger of the FoodWorks Supermarket Group Ltd (FSG) and Australian United Retailers (AUR). Unlike any other supermarket brand in Australia, every FoodWorks store is unique to its neighbourhood. The independently owned stores are supported by FoodWorks to find quality produce that suits and reflects the needs of their community.

    The current vendors are looking to sell the store now as they are retiring. Nuriootpa is a growing town with lots of housing development in recent years. The turnover of the store shows a very steady growth in line with the growing population.
